It is our experience that systems are either poorly documented or not documented at all. C3IT regularly undertakes the task of documenting current as well as new systems and processes.
We use the Zachman framework for obtaining an understanding of the current system. Typically we rebuild the entire documentation starting from the last row and moving up the framework. The level of documentation will depend on the abstraction and the perspective required.
